Remember that Live reading with the voice actors for the Last of Us? Well it just happened! The live reading of the script was streamed live on the Playstation Twitch account; other than the actual voice actors the reading was accompanied by the amazing composer Gustavo Santaolalla to play a few of his soundtracks to set the mood!

So what happened? One cannot describe it, simply you must watch it to experience it! Highlight scenes of the game were renditioned by the actual cast members live, being as powerful as ever. The chemistry between the cast shows, especially during the few bloopers and the support which Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson provide each other as they joke around in-between shots. The live reading was what I expected it to be and more, providing a perfect insight as to how a Last of Us movie COULD work, despite the fact that Maisie Williams is more likely to take over as Ellie and Joel’s character will most likely match the physical appearance of the character model and not Troy Baker himself.
The stream ended on a promise for something extra special for the audience who were seated at the venue as the cast acted the scenes – according to numerous sources at the event, Neil Druckmann has written an extra special scene which was also acted out in front of just the audience and not on the live stream; I can only imagine it was as heartbreaking as any other scene from the franchise can be!
Neogaff members who attended the live reading provided descriptions of the actual scene, with this one being the one in the most depth:
