Games in the past have proven that it’s difficult to render the charm of a franchise onto a video game; yet the latest trailer for Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations seems to be the best version yet! The upcoming game is different from the various other Adventure Time games out there, only due to the 3D environment style opposed to the various other art styles seen before. This open environment allows the traditional RPG elements to intertwine with traditional platforming elements. Using Jake’s stretching abilities, he’s able to morph shapes to aid Finn to explore areas, or to transform into interactive suits for Finn! Here’s a look at the latest trailer:

Publishers Bandai Namco seem to capture the essence which attracts Adventure Time fans to the Land of Ooo – the sheer absurdity! Short glimpses of the dialogue from the original cast seems to reflect the dialogue we’d most likely hear in the series. While the gameplay functions itself weren’t explored too much, there’s clear indications of an inventory (in which players can forge items together), sword fighting and platform jumping. Hopefully the gameplay can keep up with the humorous dialogue.

Our previous article on this game notes that it will be puzzle-centric and will have “fast-paced” combat. The storyline still isn’t absolutely clear, yet there will be an episodic format following the characters “totally not lame deduction skills”.

The game is promised to be released by October 2015 on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, 3DS and purchasable on Steam!
