Earlier today, images of the long-lost Nintendo-Playstation Superdisc emerged on Reddit shortly before subreddits such as r/Gaming were privatised. Now a video is uploaded to attempt to prove that this is more than just a hoax. The Sony and Nintendo collaboration is something that was never released, this pushed Sony to create their own Playstation and created the legacy which Sony have today. The user analogueboy claims that while he has the physical hardware, he doesn’t have a power adaptor to test out the system. If this is a fake, it’s very convincing. The user also guesses that the adaptor is “a pretty common DC cable”, once obtaining which, he can test out the cartridge that he has alongside the console.
On a separate forum, a post appearing to be from the same person highlights just how this hidden console managed to come to his hands:
“My dad worked for a company, apparently one of the guys he used to work with, I think his name was Olaf, used to work at Nintendo and when my dads company went bankrupt, my dad found it in a box of “junk” he was supposed to throw out.”
Seeing as this console could have actually made it on the market and changed the gaming dynamics of Sony and Nintendo indefinitely, it is a big deal that the console has actually surfaced after 25 years!
