Indie game developers, rejoice! The infamous YoYo Games software ‘GameMaker: Studio’ which simplifies the process in making video games will soon provide full support in porting your game projects onto the Xbox One.

The software has previously supported Sony consoles such as the PS3, PS4 and the PS Vita as additional options to the standard PC/HTML 5/Smartphone ports which are also available. Therefore the Xbox One is just another member to the family as options for porting your games onto.

Alongside the Xbox One, games can also be ported onto other platforms using Windows 8 including the OSes of Windows RT and Windows Phone 8.1; It’s just a matter of time before the new porting features are released!

Of course, as with any console, you will require a license on the specific console platform you want to publish your game on before you actually do so.

GameMaker is a great way for game developers to ‘easily’ become accustomed to coding and creating video games, and if effort is used there can be some pretty amazing Indie Games which could be created from the software!
